At X-Engineer Handyman Services we believe in pricing flexibility to be able to meet the budget of more clients and provide a fair agreement. That’s why we offer two pricing options depending on the job.
Certain scenarios require an hourly agreement, typically for jobs with an unclear scope. We always do our best to provide efficient services to our clients, and for that reason, we recommend an hourly agreement so they receive the best out-of-pocket cost.
We are also grounded in fairness, and if we make any mistake that results in more hours worked, we won’t charge for the time it took to correct our mistake.
Our hourly rate is $90 + HST, with a minimum one-hour charge. If the client is located on or North of Finch Ave, East of Don Valley Pkwy/Highway 404, on or South of Queen St, and on or West of Dufferin St, we charge a minimum of $50 + HST travel fee, no exceptions.
If the scope of the job is fully established without any unknowns, we offer quotes so our clients can compare prices. To fairly compare prices of different service providers, all details must be discussed, agreed upon, and included in the quote without leaving anything to assumption.
If part of the scope is defined but there are potential unknowns, we offer an estimate only, which may change after commencing the work and encountering the unknowns. At that point, we will communicate any price changes to the client and agree on them before moving forward.
For example, for a flooring job, the type and quality of the underlayment, the flooring material, the material and condition of the subfloor, any previous water damage or other notable incidents, and the installation pattern are some of the essential details to discuss so the quote can accurately reflect them.
